• This case alleges that Quest Diagnostics, the largest provider of independent laboratory testing services in the nation, bills and duns privately-insured and Medicare-insured patients for amounts in excess of co-payments, deductibles or other patient responsibility listed on Explanation of Benefit forms and Medicare billing rules and regulations. It is further alleged that Quest Diagnostics uses debt collectors like Quantum Collections and Credit Bureau Central and others to pressure patients to pay bills in excess of amounts owed to Quest Diagnostics and added collection fees to invoices sent to collection. particularly in Nevada. This case alleges violations of state consumer protection statues, breach of contract and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
